Rookie House League (9U)

ROOKIE HOUSE LEAGUE RULES

• All players bat and all players are in the field
• Games are 1 hour long (6pm to 7pm, Mondays and Wednesdays)
• Coaches pitch…one player on either side of adult pitcher
• Innings are complete after 3 outs or the team has scored 4 runs
• Players are permitted 5 swinging strikes (no walks)
• No bunting, stealing or tagging up on fly balls, one base per overthrow (play is live)
• Coaches are encouraged to be on the field with the defensive players.  While batting, one coach is asked to be near the batter to assist with swinging mechanics
• Bases are positioned at 60 feet using the detachable bases

PLAYOFFS

• Games will run until completion (5 innings).
• Batters get 5 swinging strikes only, then are out.
• The last inning (plus any extras) will be open for both teams, meaning they may score as many runs as possible before three outs.
